The Archaeological Museum of Aeani displays the historical development of ancient Aeani, capital of a region known as Elimiotis, one of the most powerful kingdoms of Upper Macedonia from prehistoric to Roman times.

Palaeontology enabled us to represent the environment that prevailed in hundreds of thousands and millions of years ago in the Grevena region. Tin this past world, living beings were different from today, sometimes so strangely, different as to give us a sense of awe and admiration. The palaeontological study documents these animal’s evolution, while reminding us of our humble origins.
